Join The Trapping Team
For the last year of live-trapping bobcats, we are focusing on 8 towns that contain neighborhoods with various housing densities and also much bobcat habitat. We are searching for willing participants to assist in the trapping season. Participates would allow state employees or license trappers access to your property to live-trap bobcats. Our plans to collar bobcats in Fall 2020 have been postponed to Fall 2021, but we want to connect with landowners now.

We are looking for landowners in these towns to assist the trapping effort needed to collar bobcats!

Report Your Sightings
Wildlife Sighting Public Viewer is a website created by the DEEP Wildlife Division for Connecticut residents to record bobcat sightings. Sightings from the public are greatly appreciated and invaluable towards understanding bobcats' current distribution and abundance.

Report Roadkill Bobcats
Anyone who finds a road-killed bobcat is urged to call the Wildlife Division at 860-424-3011 and provide location details. To ensure the bobcat remains until DEEP staff are able to collect it, we additionally ask (if the situation is SAFE) that you move the bobcat further from the road and cover it with branches or a bag.
From the roadkill, we are able to examine stomach contents to better understand the dietary habits of bobcats. |
